Ireland most popular punt for Rugby World Cup following demolition of Scotland

Since Ireland battered the Scots across the weekend to property a bonus stage victory, 28% of bets placed in the last 24 hours have been on them to win the Rugby World Cup.
The flurry of stakes has resulted in bookmakers doubling chances throughout the board on the Irish, who have been cut from 12/1 to 8/1, making them fourth favourites to win the Webb Ellis cup.
Joe Schmidt’s men gave the Scots a 27-3 thumping in Yokohama. They delivered their best operation of 2019 and punters liked what they saw from the Irishmen.
But, Paddy Power are moving much larger with one of their offers. They are offering enhanced odds of 100/1 on Ireland to win the Rugby World Cup (New clients, 18+, T&Cs employ ).
Ireland had previously drifted at the lead up into this World Cup last month into the betting after their defeat at Twickenham.

Scotland, on the other hand, are friendless on the marketplace, without the bets being put on them since the start of the tournament. They had been as brief as 40/1 before kick-off on Sunday in areas. However they are now a best cost of 150/1.
The Scots don’t have much hope based on the bookies but Ireland are currently receiving plenty of aid and displays such as this one could see them being backed more.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson:”Ireland’s whirlwind start to the Rugby World Cup couldn’t really have got off to a better start against Scotland, and we’re now seeing a wave of money coming into Schmidt’s side winning the entire thing.
“Well over a quarter of stakes on the eventual winner over the previous 24 hours have endorsed Ireland, nearly double the number of bets placed on red-hot favourites New Zealand (15%).
“This Irish side is certainly catching the eye as the contest in Japan heats up”
